To configure the launchpad for content consumption with custom catalogs, groups, tiles and target mappings, you use the launchpad designer and transaction PFCG.
In contrast to scenario 2, tiles and target mappings delivered by SAP are adapted, for example, changing the icon in the tile or turning off support for specific devices in the target mapping.
System/Location | Tool | Task |
---|---|---|
Web resource | SAP Fiori apps reference library | Browse the reference library for the applications of interest and determine which launchpad catalog contains them. |
Frontend server | Launchpad designer Note
It is recommended to start the launchpad designer on CUST layer. |
Catalogs You have the following options:
Note
It is recommended to create customer-specific catalogs rather than adjust catalogs shipped by SAP. Changing a catalog delivered by SAP on CUST layer, decouples the catalog from changes on CONF layer. If SAP delivers new applications in the catalog, they cannot be integrated into the same catalog on CUST layer without losing the changes done by the customer. |
Groups Create a business group and fill it with content from the new catalog(s) Note
See Creating or Removing Groups.It is recommended to create customer-specific groups rather than adjusting groups shipped by SAP. |
||
Tiles Change a tile which references a tile in the SAP technical catalog (e.g. change the title or icon, or, in dynamic tiles, change the update frequency of numbers) Note
By doing so, you will lose the reference to the SAP tile in the technical catalog. Changes in the SAP tile will no longer be reflected in the custom tile. |
||
Target Mappings Change a tile which references a target mapping in the SAP technical catalog (e.g. restrict the usage to specific devices (phone, tablet, desktop)) Note
By doing so, you will lose the reference to the SAP target mapping in the technical catalog. Changes in the SAP target mapping will no longer be reflected in the custom tile. |
