To view your logon language, open the
in the Me Area.If a value is set for URL parameter sap-language and the specified language is installed on the backend server, launchpad texts are displayed in this language.
If no language is defined for the URL parameter sap-language, launchpad texts are displayed in the default language set for your user in the ABAP system in Maintain User Profile (transaction SU01).
The date and time formats applied in the launchpad are also based on each user's profile settings from the ABAP system (transaction SU01).
If no language is defined for URL parameter sap-language or Maintain User Profile, the browser settings for header field Accept-Language are taken into account. The system selects the first language from the list that is maintained in the browser, and which is also installed in the SAP system.
Browsers offer the option to define a list of preferred languages. This list is specified using the HTTP header field Accept-Language. With Internet Explorer, you can for example set the language you require by choosing .
If your first choices are not available, you can define which alternative languages to try, and in which order. Here is an example of an Accept-Language header with multiple languages and relative quality factors (q):
Accept-Language: da, en-gb;q=0.8, en;q=0.7In this example, Danish is preferred. If it is not available, British English is requested, and finally any type of English.
