Adapting SAP Fiori UIs at RuntimeLocate this document in the navigation structure

With UI adaptation at runtime (RTA), you can change the user interface of SAP Fiori apps directly in the launchpad, intuitively and without having to write new code.

Adapting SAP Fiori UIs can be this simple

Support special business cases, speed up workflows, improve usability - there are many reasons why you may want to adapt the user interface (UI) of your apps. With RTA this couldn't be easier. It's highly intuitive and requires no technical or programming skills. Just use drag & drop and the context menu to make UI changes, for example rearrange fields or groups, remove them or add additional ones. Check out our overview video!

The changes you make with RTA apply to the entire app and therefore to all app users. That's the difference between RTA and personalization: When individual users personalize their app, the changes apply only to them.

Wait … What if I delete something important or even break the app?

Don't worry! RTA comes with a built-in safety net. It informs you whenever you're about to do something that's worth double-checking, for example removing mandatory fields from the UI. You can also undo your changes and even discard them all and reset the UI to the default app.

Tip

Want to play around with a demo app and check out how RTA works? Just open the SAPUI5 Demo Kit in Google Chrome, and on the DEMO APPS tab choose our sample demo.

What are the requirements for using RTA?

  • You run your SAP Fiori app on a desktop computer or laptop in Google Chrome or in Microsoft Internet Explorer version 11 or higher.

  • Your app is ready to be used with RTA. If in doubt, ask your administrator.

  • Your administrator assigned you to the authorization role SAP_UI_FLEX_KEY_USER and activated the ICF service /sap/bc/ui2/flp. You use the new FioriLaunchpad.html page. For more information, see Enabling UI Adaptation at Runtime.
