Launching ATC Check ImplicitlyLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

You, as an ABAP developer, are going to release a transport request that contains changes for several development objects. When you release a transport, the ABAP backend system automatically launches the ATC check run in the background to check all development objects in the transport request.

Recommendation: We recommend running an ATC check explicitly before releasing a transport request.

Restriction The release of transports (including the implicit ATC check run) is not fully integrated in ABAP Development Tools (ADT). Currently, you can only trigger a transport release using transport tools in ADT. Consequently, the ATC errors are displayed in the embedded SAP GUI tool.

To trigger a transport in ADT, proceed as follows:

Procedure

  1. If you have not yet already done so, open the Transport Organizer view using the tool bar menu Start of the navigation path Window Next navigation step Show View Next navigation step Other... End of the navigation path
  2. In the Transport Organizer view, expand the Workbench folder.
  3. Expand the Modifiable folder until you have found the requested transport request or task.
  4. Choose Release from the context menu of the request.
