Missing Authorizations

Problem

Exceptions are thrown regarding missing authorizations. This can happen during development, for example when creating or reading notifications.

Solution

Verify that users have roles assigned to them according to

Notification Channel Configuration.

Verify that the odata3 node in transaction SICF has been activated. If it is not active you will receive an HTTP 403 response on the first request to read the Notification Channel's metadata.

Notifications Missing in SAP Fiori Launchpad

Problem

Notifications do not appear in the SAP Fiori launchpad.

Solution

A variety of reasons can cause this. Possible solutions include:

  • In Microsoft Internet Explorer there might be a cache bug where the badge count is not re-requested after the initial request. Try opening the notification list directly or open it in another browser.

  • All create/deletes are handled in a background RFC queue. If there are errors you can check the background RFC queue. You can run transaction RS_BGRFC_MONITOR to see the state of the queue.

  • Some systems are set up in a two server hub/backend configuration. Verify that the RFC connection is functional between both servers.
