Customers can document both their own objects and SAP objects. Customers can create their own documentation for SAP objects by modifying SAP documentation.
When you modify SAP documentation, you create a document in the document class General Text. This document has the headers of the respective SAP documentation, and also its content, if required. Customers can enhance and modify this document to their own requirements.
An include statement is used to include this general text in the SAP documentation. The original text is then suppressed. In this way, the content of the customer documentation appears in the online help, and not the content of the SAP documentation. Before this can happen, the processing status of the general text you have created must be Active.
If the customer documentation is deleted, the SAP documentation will appear in the online help again.
You can create customer documentation in any language; it is independent of the original language of the SAP documentation. The documentation can also be translated in the system.
If the SAP system is upgraded at a later time, the customer can decide whether to retain the modifications or use the SAP documentation (which may possibly have been modified).
