Finding Full Texts for AbbreviationsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

If an abbreviation is used in the source or target text line for which a full text exists in the proposal pool, you can display the full text from the short text editor.

Procedure

  1. In the short text editor, choose Find Full Texts for Abbreviations Find Full Texts for Abbreviations or Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Full Texts for Abbreviations End of the navigation path.

To the right of the status bar, the system displays the icon followed by a number for each line that contains an abbreviation and for which a full text exists in the proposal pool.

    • 1 means that the source text has been defined as an abbreviation in the proposal pool and that a full text has been maintained.

    • 2 means that the target text has been defined as an abbreviation in the proposal pool and that a full text has been maintained.

    • 12 means that the source and target texts have been defined as abbreviations in the proposal pool and that full texts have been maintained.

  2. To display the full text or texts, click the appropriate number.
The Full Text for Abbreviation dialog box appears. If the full text was created as a domain standard in the proposal pool, the system displays the domain's two-character ID in front of the full text. If the abbreviation has been assigned to several full texts in the proposal pool, the system displays them all.
  3. To close the Full Text for Abbreviation dialog box and return to the short text editor, choose Cancel.
