Summary

This document describes how to implement OData services for read-only scenarios using a model-based approach based on a referenced data source.

The SAP Gateway Service Builder provides you the following options for creating OData services:

• Manually – by mapping the business entities between the database and SADL
• Tool-supported – by using or importing the referenced data sources that are defined as CDS annotations for a CDS view in ABAP in Eclipse
  For this, you have the following possibilities are at your disposal:

  • Creating a new CDS view
  • Modifying an existing CDS view provided by SAP
  • Importing existing CDS views from another data source
