The data fields and elements that you can integrate into the form layout of a form template are contained in the hierarchical structure of the form context. You can organize this structure by using the following functions:
Creating folders
Creating alternative nodes for TRUE and FALSE cases
Creating, copying, moving, or deleting structure nodes
Activating or deactivating structure nodes (only active nodes are available for the layout)
Updating the interface and context structure (after adapting field definitions)
You have called the context of a form template for editing.
More information: Defining the Context of a Form Template
Creating a Folder in the Context
To improve the overview of the node structure, group nodes into folders. (Example: Folder for text nodes with reminders for different reminder levels)
To create a folder node, call the context menu for the node where you want the folder to be located and choose
.In the properties of the new folder, enter a meaningful name and a description, and confirm and save your entries.
Creating and Defining Alternative Nodes
If you use alternative nodes for existing nodes, when the system creates the form it processes one of two nodes (including subnodes), depending on a condition. An alternative node has two successors. The first successor node (TRUE) is processed only if the condition is met; otherwise, the second successor node (FALSE) is processed.
Call the context menu for the node under which you want to create an alternative node, and choose
.In the properties of the alternative node and its subnodes TRUE and FALSE, enter the general data.
Under Alternative Conditions , specify the conditions for the processing of the node.
Call the context menu for the nodes TRUE and FALSE, choose Create , and create subnodes for branching. You can assign existing nodes as subnodes by using the mouse or the context menu.
Creating Structure Nodes in the Context
In the context structure, you can create nodes for fields and tables from the form interface, as well as nodes for texts, addresses, and graphics.

Cutting, Copying, Pasting, and Deleting Nodes
You can use the mouse to move or copy (holding down the CTRL key) nodes, or use the corresponding menu options.
Call the context menu for the node, and choose
, , or .Call the context menu for the node under which you want to move the copied or cut node, and choose
.Fields of structures and tables from the form interface that you have added to the context cannot be copied, moved, or deleted. To exclude such nodes from being used in the layout, deactivate them.
Deactivating or Activating Nodes
New nodes are active, that is, they are available for adding to the layout. If nodes cannot be deleted or moved, you can deactivate them. You can reactivate inactive nodes at any time.
Select the node or nodes that you want to deactivate or activate.
Call the context menu for the selected area and choose
or .You can also change the status ( Active or Inactive ) in the properties of the node.
Updating the Interface and Context Structure
If you have changed the mode of the interface while working on the context, update the structures as follows:
In the interface toolbar, choose the Reload Interface icon.
In the context structure, select the structure or table you want to update, and in the context toolbar choose Update .
