Hiding the Availability Status Setting in the CLPLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

If your company is not planning to allow users to set their own availability status, you can hide the corresponding iView component - the Availability Status Selector (ASS) - in the Collaboration Launch Pad (CLP).

To do this, you create the CLP iView based on the corresponding Portal Application template and deactivate the display of the ASS in the properties of the new iView. Then you reference the new iView instead of the standard iView by entering its ID in the properties for the portal header tool area.

Procedure

To make available a CLP iView without selection of the availability status in the portal, proceed as follows:

  1. Create a new CLP iView and switch off the display of the Availability Status Selector (ASS):
    1. Navigate to Content Administration → Portal Content → Portal Applications
    2. Choose the com.sap.netweaver.coll.shared.ui portal application.
    3. In the context menu of the Collaboration Launch Pad portal component, choose Copy.
    4. Choose the folder where to paste the Collaboration Launch Pad portal component and then in the context menu of this folder, choose Paste as PCD Object.
    5. Proceed with the steps in the Paste as PCD Object tab page.
    6. Enter the general properties of the iView and choose Next.
    7. Choose Finish.
    8. In the context menu of the created iView, choose Open  → Properties.
    9. In the Properties, choose the All property category.
    10. Set the Show Availability Status Selector property to false.
    11. Save the iView properties.
  2. Get the ID of the newly created Collaboration Launch Pad  iView by choosing in the context menu of this iView, Copy ID option.
  3. Assign the iView ID to the portal header tool area:
    1. In the portal catalog, open the portal classic framework page.
    2. Choose Tool Area → Open.
    3. In the Properties, choose the All property category.
    4. Copy the entire ID from the clipboard to the Collaboration Launch Pad Component field.
    5. Save the iView properties.
Result

In the portal, the CLP is launched without selection of the availability status.

Caution

Because the configuration information is read from the cache memory at certain intervals, it can take a few minutes until the new iView is visible in the portal.
