Deleting Profile FilesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

Profiles can also be deleted from the database. Single profile versions or all profile versions can be deleted.

Procedure

  1. Call transaction RZ10 (Edit Profiles).
  2. Enter the profile you want to delete in the Profile input field.
  3. You can either delete a single profile version or all profile versions of a profile:
    • Delete single profile version of a profile: If you want to delete a single profile version, enter its version number in the Version input field. Then follow menu path: Start of the navigation path Profile Next navigation step Delete Next navigation step Single Profile End of the navigation path
    • Delete all profile versions of a profile:Choose the following menu path: Start of the navigation path Profile Next navigation step Delete Next navigation step All Versions Next navigation step of a Profile End of the navigation path
  4. Delete profile version(s) from the database:
    • Delete single profile version of a profile:To delete the profile from the database, confirm the prompt Are you sure you want to delete the profile? by choosing Yes.
    • Delete all profile versions of a profile:To delete all profile versions from the database, confirm the prompt Are you sure you want to delete all versions? by choosing Yes.
    The specified profile version(s) will be deleted from the database.
  5. Delete profile version(s) at operating system level:
    • Delete single profile version of a profile: Confirm the prompt Delete or overwrite profiles at operating system level if you want to delete the specified profile at operating system level too.
    • Delete all profile versions of a profile: Confirm the prompt Delete or overwrite path of profile file if you want to delete all profile versions of the profile at operating system level too.
    Caution Make sure you do not delete the current profile at operating system level by mistake.
    The specified profile version(s) will be deleted at operating system level.
