The table below contains error messages and appropriate action.

Error number Solution

GW-EXC-001

The configured IIS could not be reached. Check the following:

  • Can the IIS be reached from the portal server?
  • Is the J2EE engine configured for proxy access and is the IIS listed under nonProxyHosts?

Is the test application described in Testing the MSX-A Setup to check the configuration, working fine?

GW-EXC-002

An error occurred while retrieving the protocol information. Check the Exchange transports created.

GW-EXC-003

Either the IIS was not reached or the IIS did not recognize the user.

Test the connection for the specified user using the test application described in Testing the MSX-A Setup .

GW-EXC-004

The protocol specified when you created an Exchange transport is incorrect. Check the specification and specify a protocol that IIS supports. Only HTTP and HTTPS protocols are supported.

Check and configure the transports described in Creating an Exchange Transport .

The port to connect to the IIS was not specified when you created an Exchange transport. Check the port on which the virtual folder exists on the IIS and update the transport accordingly.

GW-EXC-008

The URL constructed from the information specified when you created an Exchange transport resulted in an error.

Use the test application as described in Testing the MSX-A Setup to check the settings and update the configuration of the Exchange transport accordingly.

GW-EXC-009

The IIS server specified when you created an Exchange transport is either incorrect or cannot be reached.

Use the test application as described in Testing the MSX-A Setup to check the settings and update the configuration of the Exchange transport accordingly.

GW-EXC-010

The user credentials specified in user mapping are not correct for the user currently logged on. Check and update the user credentials. The following are valid formats for user names:

  1. username
  2. domain\username
  3. domain\username\mailboxalias

username means WINNT user name and domain means the domain in which the above user name is recognized.

mailboxalias means the alias of the mailbox on the Exchange server, if the alias is not the same as the user name.

If you have a exchange alias (mail account) like Micahel.Albert which is different from  the NT username AlbertM'of your domain mycompany.com then the user mapping will be in format #3:mycompany.com \ AlbertM \ Michael.Albert

The Groupware manager has not been initialized for this transport. Check for errors logged during the start-up of the portal.

GW-EXC-014

The virtual path specified when you created an Exchange transport is not correct or the MSX-A components have not been deployed.

Check if the MSX-A components have been deployed properly as described in Installing the MSX-A Components .

Check the validity of the virtual path using the test application as described in Testing the MSX-A Setup and update the configuration.

GW-EXC-015

The name of the IIS was not configured when you created the Exchange transport. Update the IIS name for the appropriate transport instance.

GW-EXC-017

Microsoft Collaboration Data Object threw an exception. Use the test application as described in Testing the MSX-A Setup to determine the CDO exception.

Search on MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com) for known solutions and take the necessary action as recommended by Microsoft.

The user credentials specified in user mapping must be checked and updated. The format for the user name is domain\username\e-mail_id.

GW-EXC-018

The IIS service is not running on the server mentioned in the IIS attribute. Check the attribute and start the IIS service on the IIS.

GW-EXC-019

The e-mail address specified in the LDAP mapped for the portal is invalid or was not recognized by the Exchange server. Check and correct the e-mail address.

GW-EXC-020

The configuration for this transport was not initialized. Check for any error messages logged during startup and take any necessary action.

GW-EXC-021

Updating an instance of a recurring appointment is not supported from the portal. Use the Outlook client or Outlook Web access to update this appointment.

GW-EXC-022

The name of the Exchange server that is configured in the Exchange transport is incorrect, or the server cannot be reached.

GW-EXC-023

An error occurred when attempting to retrieve the data. Refer to SAPnote 724656.

An error occurred when attempting to process the request. Refer to SAPnote 724656

If availability information for newly created Exchange users is not available, ensure that the users have logged in using the Outlook client at least once. For more information, see point #5 under http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q179639.
