The properties of an InfoObject (with the name, the description and the availability of texts and attributes) are either derived locally from the ODP field (if one exists) or from an association. Depending on the role that an ODP field has during analysis and on how the field is used in its search and analysis model, you can influence how the definition of the InfoObject - and in particular the InfoObject Name and its description - are derived for an ODP field.
The following sections describe how the InfoObject names and descriptions are derived at runtime for characteristics, key figures and units.
Characteristics
ODP field is representative key field
The InfoObject name of an ODP's representative key field is 2O<ODP-Name>. The description of the InfoObject corresponds to the description of the ODP.
ODP field is not representative key field
For an ODP field that is not the representative key field, the following applies for derivation of the InfoObject name and the InfoObject description:
Is the ODP field used in the foreign key relationship of an association? |
Status of the "Redefine" checkbox for the ODP field |
InfoObject name |
InfoObject description |
Yes |
Checkbox is not selected |
InfoObject name of the corresponding ODP field in the target of the association |
InfoObject description of the corresponding ODP field in the target of the association |
Yes |
Checkbox is selected |
2O<ODP-Name>-<Name des ODP-Feldes> |
Description of the ODP field |
No |
Checkbox is inactive (the Name and Description columns are input ready) |
2O<ODP-Name>-<Name des ODP-Feldes> |
Description of the ODP field |
Note the following for an ODP field that is used in the foreign key relationship of an association:
For the ODP field, the reference characteristic is always determined by the target of the association. All properties apart from the name and the description are taken over from the reference characteristic. If the name and/or the description are changed for an ODP field during modeling, a new characteristic is created. This characteristic also has the target of the association as its reference characteristic.
ODP field is navigation attribute
Status of the "Redefine" checkbox for the ODP field in master data ODP |
InfoObject name in the TransientProvider |
InfoObject description in the TransientProvider |
Checkbox is not selected |
2O<Name of the assigned ODP>=<InfoObject name of the corresponding field in the target of the association without the prefix 2O> |
InfoObject description of the corresponding field in the target of the association |
Checkbox field is selected or inactive |
2O<Name of the assigned ODP>-<Name of the field in the assigned ODP> |
Description of the field in the associated ODP |
Key Figures
Key figure has a unit |
InfoObject name |
Yes |
2O<Name des ODP-Feldes>-<Name der Einheit> |
No |
2O<Name des ODP-Feldes>-<DDIC-Datentyp> |
Units
The InfoObject name for a unit field is 2O<Name des ODP-Feldes>.
