Discussion Service
The discussion service determines the properties and behavior of discussions.
The discussion service is relevant for the following iViews:
- Discussions for Resources
- Discussions in Discussion Groups
Discussion Services in the standard SAP Delivery
SAP delivers the following discussion services preconfigured:
- discussionService for discussions for resources (with assignment of the posts to topics)
- discussion secureService that provides a text editor for entering discussion posts instead of the HTML editor for security reasons. This removes the possibility of inserting URLs or JavaScript to manipulate and illegally analyze discussion posts.
- discussion simpleService for discussions in rooms (without assignment of the posts to topics)
Configuration
To configure discussion services, choose the following path in the portal: System Administration → System Configuration → Knowledge Management ( →Configuration) → Content Management → Repository Services → Discussion Service.
A discussion service has the following configuration options:
