Using the Web Administration InterfaceLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can monitor and administrate the SAP Web Dispatcher using the browser.

You do not need the SAP GUI to access the Web administration interface, and you do not have to be logged on to the computer on which the Web dispatcher is running.

Integration

You can also monitor and manage the SAP Web Dispatcher and using command line programs.

Prerequisites

To manage the Web Dispatcher from the browser, the Web administration interface must be set up.

If the Web Dispatcher was installed using SAPInst, the Web administration interface is already set up. If you click on the Web Dispatcher from the MMC, you have to identify yourself. If you install it using SAPInst, Web administration user webadm is created by default. The password is the master password assigned in the installation.

Recommendation

SAP recommends you change the password after the installation. You do this in the Area Menu under Admin Handler.

Features

Enter the URL http(s)://host:admin_port/sap/admin in the browser. Here the host is the computer on which the Web dispatcher or ICM is running and admin_port is the administration port configured with icm/HTTP/admin_<xx>.

Recommendation

For security reasons you should use HTTPS for the administration. If you use HTTP the administrator passwords are transferred unencrypted and can therefore be listened to. It is best to work with client certificates.

When you have logged on, the administration and monitoring interface appears. The only difference in this area between the administration interfaces for the ICM and Web Dispatcher are the headings.
