 Deactivating Groups in the Room Member ListLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

When specifying the members of a room, the room owner can add entire user groups as room members. If a group is not expanded in the room member list, all the users that currently belong to that group at the time when the group is added to the room are automatically members of the room. 

The use of groups in the room member list is activated by default, however you can deactivate this option: To do this, you change the configuration of the following iViews:

Room Maintenance

 

Provides administrative functions including the maintenance of the room member list.

Note

SAP ships two versions with different designs, one for rooms with detailed navigation (classical portal design) and one for rooms with tab navigation (floorplan design).

Member Maintenance

Provides the maintenance of the room member list only.

Room Creation Wizard

Provides all the steps for the creation of a room (including inviting members)

Room Creation

Room Creation Wizard as a dialog box. The dialog box opens if a user selects the menu item Create room… in the Collaboration Launch Pad (CLP).

Procedure
  1. In the portal, choose Content Administration → Portal Content.
  2. Open the Portal Content folder in the Portal Catalog.
  3. Go to each of the following iViews:
    iView Path

    Room Maintenance

    ID: FloorplanRoomMaintenance

    ID: RoomMaintenance

    com.sap.ip.collaboration → TemplateAndPartContent → Generic → iViews.

    Member Maintenance

    ID: MemberMaintenance

    As above.

    Room Creation Wizard

    ID: RoomCreationWizard

    Content Provided by SAP → Collaboration → Services → Standard → iViews

    Create Room (dialog box)

    ID: CreateRoom

    As above.

  4. Work through the following steps for each iView:
    1. Open the iView (note the exact ID).
    2. Choose the Display All property category.
    3. Set the value of the Enable to add groups to the room member list property to false.
