Use

The packaged Outlook Web Access (OWA) iViews can be used for quickly integrating the inbox, calendar, task, and contacts folders on the Microsoft Exchange server.

This section tells you how to configure the iViews for displaying the inbox, calendar, task, and contacts for an NT user.

Prerequisites
  • You are using Windows NT authentication for the exchange server.
  • The portal user and the exchange user's alias are identical.
  • You have installed and configured Microsoft Outlook Web Access 2000 or above.
Procedure

Proceed as follows to configure an OWA iView for displaying the inbox, calendar, task, and contacts folders for an NT user:

  1. Choose Content Administration → Portal Content → Content provided by SAP  → Collaboration  → iView.
  2. Choose the Outlook Web Access Inbox iView.
  3. Use the secondary mouse button to open the context menu, and then choose  Edit Object.
  4. In the Outlook Web Access Inbox dialog box, update the iView property URL Template: < http://<server_hostname>:<port>/Exchange/User.UserID/Calendar/?cmd=contents>
  5. Replace <server_hostname> and <port> with the Outlook Web Access server name and port.
  6. Choose Save.

Now carry out the steps above for the following iViews: Outlook Web Access Calendar, Outlook Web Access Task, and Outlook Web Access Contact.

To display a public folder using Outlook Web Access iViews, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose Content Administration → Portal Content → Content provided by SAP → Collaboration → iView.
  2. Choose the Outlook Web Access Public Folder iView.
  3. Use the secondary mouse button to open the context menu, and then choose Edit Object.
  4. In the Outlook Web Access Inbox dialog box, update the iView property URL Template: http://<server_hostname>:<port>/Public/<Public Folder Name>
  5. Replace <server_hostname> and <port> with the Outlook Web Access server name and port. Replace <Public Folder Name> with the actual public folder name
  6. Choose Save.

Note

Spaces in folder names are represented in the URL by the characters %20. If the name of the item that you want to view contains a space, you must replace each space with %20 in your named URL.

Result

You can now add these iViews to pages in your portal, and add the pages to worksets or roles. When users log on to the portal and go to the page where one of these iViews is located, they can access the corresponding information from Outlook Web Access.
