Features

The Who's Who iView allows you to search for portal users using search criteria, for example, user ID, first and last name, or e-mail address.

During searches, you can use the character "*" as a placeholder, for example, Ma*, to display all portal users whose last name begins with "Ma".

Depending on the configuration, the results list can provide the following scope:

  • Basic

For each user found, the results list contains the following information as standard:

    • Availability status icon
    • User name with context menu (You can launch services for collaborating with other users from the context menu.)
  • Enhanced

The results list contains more than one column. For each portal user found, it contains the following information as standard:

    • Availability status icon
    • User name with context menu
    • User ID
    • Telephone number of the user
Prerequisites
  • The SAP search engine Search and Classification (TREX) has been installed.
    Note

The number of users indexed by TREX is limited by the LDAP parameter SearchSizeLimit. This means that only the number of users specified in this parameter are indexed and displayed in the Who's Who iView. Make sure that the value of the parameter SearchSizeLimit is higher than the number of users defined in LDAP. If you cannot increase the value of the SearchSizeLimit parameter, the user display in the Who's Who iView does not work correctly.

Optional Settings

To modify the functions to suit the requirements of your company, you can configure the iView properties. The following settings are particularly important:

iView Property Description

Preselection of the search index (csv)

Here, the ID of the UME index (ume) is entered as the default.

When you create the UME index, you must either specify the same ID or make sure that the entry in this field matches the ID for the search index for the Who's Who iView.

Query

This field contains a list of attributes separated by "&". Check the assignment of the layout set to the iView. The syntax is:

rndLayoutSet=<LayoutSet>

The following assignments make sense (default setting):

  • Wide iView variant

Layout set for a results list with more than one column, thus rndLayoutSet= WhoIsWhoLayoutSet

  • Narrow iView variant

Layout set for a simple results list, thus rndLayoutSet= WhoIsWhoNarrowLayoutSet

Search method

The default search method is LINGUISTIC.
