Specifying Connection Parameters Between IKS and ABAP SystemLocate this document in the navigation structure

Procedure

  1. Open a browser window and call the following URL: http://<J2EE_host>:<J2EE_port>/SAPIKS2/showAdmin.sap

    The logon mask for the UME appears.

  2. Logon as one of the admin users to which you previously assigned role KW_ADMINISTRATOR in the UME.
  3. On the next screen, choose Direct Access to SAP KW as the access mode.
  4. Choose Continue.
  5. On the next screen, enter the connection parameters of the SAP NetWeaver ABAP system used for the SAP KW:

    Technical user

    Enter the previously-created system user with the corresponding password as the user.

    General Connection Parameters

    Enter the client, system number (instance ID of the ABAP instance), and the language here.

    Connection to an Application Server/Message Server

    Enter either information about a specific application server or the message server.

    Supported Languages

    If you are using a Unicode system, set the corresponding indicator. If you are not operating a Unicode system, but nevertheless want to display content from non-Latin1 languages (such as Russian), enter the corresponding two-character language code.

  6. Choose Test.
  7. If the connection test is successful, the message The connection to the KW was successfully created appears.
  8. You can now save the entered connection parameters by choosing Send.

    The message The configuration was successfully changed appears.

  9. You can now log off IKS.
  10. If the initial structure (directly addressable using the URL: URL: http://<server>:<port>/SAPIKS2) already exists in the SAP KW system, you can now attempt to display using the browser.

    To display other content from the SAP GUI / KWB, you first need to perform the activities described in the section Assigning an IKS Server and Port for Display from SAP GUI/KWB.
