Use

You can use BEx Broadcaster to precalculate and broadcast Web templates, queries, query views, reports, and workbooks. You can broadcast BEx objects as either precalculated documents or online links (workbooks cannot be broadcast as online links, however). You have the options of broadcasting by e-mail or broadcasting to the portal. You can also print these BEx objects in the required format.

This section explains all of the features in BEx Broadcaster. BEx Broadcaster is tailored to the requirements of information consumers and business experts.

Note

The features that you can use depend on your authorizations.

BEx Broadcaster and Broadcasting Wizard

In BEx Broadcaster, you can create new broadcast settings either with the Broadcaster itself or with a wizard. The Broadcasting Wizard provides step-by-step instructions on how to create the new setting. Since the wizard's settings options are restricted in comparison to the Broadcaster, you can navigate from the wizard to the Broadcaster to make further settings as required.

Define broadcast settings for precalculating and broadcasting queries, query views, Web templates, and reports. You can also define broadcast settings for the generation of online links for these objects and for their distribution.

Determining the Distribution Type

Define how you want to distribute the BEx objects . You can select the following distribution types:

Scheduling Broadcast Settings

If you do not want to execute the defined broadcast settings immediately, you can schedule them. They are distributed at the time you specify.

Note

Information broadcasting is performed for individual BEx objects (queries, query views, Web templates, reports, and workbooks). You cannot edit the settings for various BEx objects at one time. However, you can precalculate multiple settings at the same time using the defined times for scheduling broadcasts.
