Providing and Managing Information Broadcasting

Before you can use information broadcasting, you have to make a number of system administration settings. A number of broadcast functions are also available for business experts and system administrators.

Make sure that you have administrator authorization for broadcasting. You need authorization object S_RS_ADMWB with field RSADMWBOBJ = BR_SETTING.

The Broadcast by E-Mail, Broadcast to Portal, and Broadcast to Printer distribution types are intended for all users.

All other distribution types permit administrative tasks and are only available to users with the appropriate authorization.

Set up information broadcasting for the users and make sure that the required functions are provided.

Using Advanced Broadcasting Functions

Use the advanced broadcast functions (set by business experts and in system administration) such as master-data-based broadcast by e-mail (bursting), broadcast in multiple formats, or exception-specific broadcasting.

Managing Information Broadcasting

Monitor the operation and manage the broadcast settings, scheduling, and objects (bookmark IDs and view IDs) that are generated during broadcasting.
