Increasing the Number of Error Log FilesLocate this document in the navigation structure

To increase the number of error logs that are stored by the system, proceed as follows:

  1. Expand the SQL Server instance in the SQL Server Management Studio.
  2. In the Object Explorer select Management, right-click SQL Server Logs, and choose Configure.

    The Configure SQL Server Error Logs dialog box appears.

  3. Select Limit the number of the error logs before they are recycled.
  4. Enter the number of logs you want the system to keep.

    The system deletes the remaining logs.
