Reorganizing Update RecordsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

You can use this function to instruct the update server to search for incomplete update records and delete these. If a transaction registers one or more update modules, a screen change in which the transaction creating the update generates a database commit can result in incomplete update records. In such a case, the transaction is terminated prematurely and a rollback is triggered.

Incomplete records have no significance, but occupy space in the database.

For this reason this reorganisation is activated in the standard system ( rdisp/vbreorg =1), reorganization is performed each time the update server is started.

This function allows you to reorganize the update records manually.

Procedure

  1. Go to the administration of the update system function by choosing Administration of Update systemor from the menu Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Administration System End of the navigation path. The Update Program Administration screen appears.
  2. Choose Reorganize update requests.

Results

Incomplete update records are deleted and are no longer taking up space in the database.
