Translate object types with two-part technical names by following the instructions given in this topic.

Context

For example, if you want to translate message BC 006, proceed as follows:

Procedure

  1. In transaction Translation: Initial Screen (SE63), choose Short Texts.
    The Object Type Selection (Object Groups) dialog box appears.
  2. Expand 00 Meta Objects.
  3. Select meta object type MES Message Short Text (Meta).
    The ABAP Short Texts: Message Short Text (Meta) screen appears.
  4. Enter BC in the Message Class field.
  5. Use the input help function for the Message Number field to display a complete list of message numbers for message class BC.
  6. Select message number 006.
  7. Select the required source and target languages.
  8. Choose Edit.
    Transaction SE63 works out for you that the correct object type is in fact MESS Messages, and opens the object for translation in the short text editor.
