Web Dynpro ABAP and Floorplan ManagerLocate this document in the navigation structure

Web Dynpro ABAP is the standard SAP UI technology for developing Web applications in the ABAP environment. It is also the basis for other UI frameworks in this environment, such as Floorplan Manager.

  • Web Dynpro ABAP

You can use Web Dynpro ABAP to develop complex business applications based on specific requirements. It consists of a runtime environment and a graphical development environment featuring special Web Dynpro tools that are integrated into the ABAP Workbench. Applications that were created using Web Dynpro for ABAP can be displayed using a standard browser or the SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC).

  • Web Dynpro ABAP Configuration Framework

With its three layers - personalization, customizing and configuration - the Web Dynpro ABAP Configuration Framework provides a wide range of options for extending applications to meet your needs. These capabilities allow you to customize Web Dynpro applications without touching the code, and to define the range in which your users can personalize these applications further. Floorplan Manager and Web Dynpro ABAP Page Builder are based on this configuration framework.

  • Floorplan Manager (FPM)

FPM is a highly configurable user interface (UI) framework for easy and efficient application development and adaptation based on Web Dynpro ABAP.

  • Web Dynpro ABAP Page Builder (Page Builder)

The Page Builder is a framework that enables administrators to put together Web Dynpro applications with no, or hardly any, programming required. Typically, you use the Page Builder to design home pages that enable users to access their main tasks and that provide these users with the option of adapting the page, for instance by adding CHIPs in which their favorite Web pages are embedded.

The Page Builder supports the side panel concept together with the SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC).

  • Launchpads

A launchpad is a collection of navigation links that is stored as a separate technical object in the system. The navigation links allow you to navigate to specific destinations outside of the current application, for example, to other Web Dynpro ABAP applications, external Web pages, transactions, reports, or other business objects.

  • Personal Object Worklist (POWL)

You can use a POWL to provide a general overview of the work environment of a business user and all related business objects. POWL therefore serves as a central point for accessing, managing, and tracking your object-related tasks.
