Authorizations for SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC)Locate this document in the navigation structure

The following authorizations are taken into account when executing queries on BPC models:

  • analysis authorizations on the InfoProvider (BW system; authorizations are configured by the administrator)
  • analysis authorizations for the BPC environment (BW system; authorizations are configured by the administrator)
  • data access profiles (BPC system; profiles are configured by the business user)

Analysis authorizations from the BW system are merged and then cut out of the data access profiles with the authorizations. Exception: if a user has the authorization 0BI_ALL, then the data access profiles are ignored and the user always has full authorization.

Note MultiProviders are only supported if the fields have exactly the same names as in the relevant InfoProviders.
Caution If the field 0CALDAY is authorization-relevant, it has to be added to the InfoProvider.
Analysis Authorizations for the BPC Environment (BW System)

Transaction RSECENVI in the BW system allows you to assign analysis authorizations to a BPC environment. This assignment is optional. Every user that is assigned to this environment contains these analysis authorizations.

Data Access Profiles (BPC System)

Authorizations are assigned using data access profiles from the BPC system. These authorizations are obligatory because queries cannot be executed without them. The BW InfoProviders required for the data access profiles are imported and the authorization-relevant fields are displayed. The authorizations can now be assigned on these fields. If a query is started from a BPC environment, the data access profiles for the authorizations are used. For authorization-relevant characteristics, a data access profile is required in which authorizations have been assigned. Otherwise the user will not see any data in the query.
