Use the test tool rectraps to test whether SNMP traps were correctly sent. You can receive SNMP traps with this program.
You must have copied the required data to the host on which you want to receive the SNMP traps. To do this, follow the procedure below:
Call the program on the host that is to receive the SNMP traps as follows:
rectraps <configuration file>.
In the configuration file you define, for example, the port at which the program is to listen. There is a template called rectrapc.cfg with default values in the for_recipientdirectory. For more information about the configuration file, see Adjusting the Configuration File for Receiving SNMP Traps.
