Displaying IDoc MessagesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

A role that contains one of the NWA_SUPERADMIN_PI_IDOC or NWA_READONLY_PI_IDOC actions is assigned to the user account you use to access the IDoc monitor. Examples of such roles are NWA_READONLY, NWA_SUPERADMIN, and Administrator. For more information about which roles allow you to view and modify messages, see Monitoring Roles .

Context

Using the message monitor you can search for IDoc messages processed with the IDoc adapter on the Advanced Adapter Engine. You can add various IDoc parameters to the search criteria to find only those messages in which you are interested.

Procedure

  1. Access the IDoc monitor in one of the following ways:

    • Open a browser and go to http://[host]:[port]/pimon to access the Process Integration tools. Then choose Start of the navigation path Monitoring Next navigation step Adapter Engine Next navigation step IDoc Monitor End of the navigation path.

    • Open a browser and go to http://[host]:[port]/nwa to access SAP NetWeaver Administrator. Then choose Start of the navigation path SOA Next navigation step Monitoring Next navigation step PI IDoc Adapter Monitoring End of the navigation path.

  2. Choose the Message Monitor tab.
  3. Choose one of the following search modes:

    • To perform a quick search, simply select one of the options in the Show dropdown menu.

    • In basic search mode, you can enter the number of the IDoc message in the Find field, and specify the message direction and the time period.

    • In advanced search mode, you can enter parameters of the IDoc or XI message as well as the start and end of the search period.

Results

The system displays the IDoc messages matching the search criteria in a table. You can choose which information should be displayed by filtering the results, or by choosing Open Settings Dialog and customizing the settings for displaying the results.

When you select a message in the table, the system displays details about it below the table. You can select one of the available tabs to view the following details for the selected IDoc message:

  • Acknowledgments sent to the sender.

  • More details about the message. Using the link you can navigate to the message monitor to see additional details about the message. For more information, see Monitoring Messages .

  • The control record data.
