You can create a new GUI status by making a copy of an existing status. There are two ways to do this:
Copying a Status Within a Program
If you copy a status within a program, there are two further possibilities:
In this case, the status references are maintained, so changes to components are visible in both statuses.
In this case, you choose which components are to be used. These are copied into the new status. In the new status, all references to the components are replaced with references to the copy. This means that only changes to these objects are visible in the target status. The references to the other (unselected) components are kept.
Copying a Status from a Different Program
If you copy a status from a different program, the system copies all components.
If you want to use a standard interface for your program, you have to reference these components to the original.
This procedure tells you how to create a new status by copying an existing status from the same program.
The Copy Status dialog box appears. The current program and status appear as the To and Frm program and status.
A second dialog box appears.
The default option is The same sub-objects. However, you can also choose Partly the same sub-objects(see above diagram). In this case, you must select the components that you want to use.
The system asks you, whether you want to change the short texts of the new objects.
The system creates the new status in the same program.
When you copy the status into another program, steps 5, 6 and 7 are omitted, since the system copies all components automatically.
