Activating the Handling of Non-Active Data During Main Memory BottlenecksLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

  • You have migrated your system to SAP HANA.

  • The release version of the SAP HANA database is SAP HANA Support Package Stack 05.

Context

Procedure

  1. Run the report RS_BW_POST_MIGRATION to displace (Unload Priority 7) the PSA tables from the main memory. On the selection screen, only select the Set Unload Priority option.

This step is necessary if the migration of the BW system included SAP NetWeaver 7.3 SP9 or higher.

  2. Run the report RSDU_WODSO_REPART_HDB to partition the table of relevant write-optimized DataStore objects and to displace (Unload Priority 7) the PSA tables from the main memory.

The report RS_BW_POST_MIGRATION ensures that objects with a very small data volume or objects in an SAP HANA database landscape are partitioned and displaced from the main memory.

For more information, see SAP Note 1776749 Information published on SAP site.

Results

Columns from older PSA-optimized and write-optimized DataStore object partitions are now displaced with a higher priority during main memory bottlenecks. The process is fully automated. No additional maintenance is required for existing or new tables and there is no impact on functionality.
