Indexing Portal ContentLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

The portal indexing service enables you to index the following portal objects:

  • iViews

  • Pages

  • Worksets

  • Roles

  • Role folders

Note
  • Embedded content is indexed for all iViews on Web Page Composer pages.

  • Content inside isolated iViews is not indexed.

The values of the following properties are indexed for all indexed objects:

  • Name

  • Description

  • Creation Date

  • Created By

  • Last Modified

  • Last Modified By

  • Tags

Prerequisites
  • You have installed Knowledge Management on the portal.

  • You have installed and configured the TREX server.

  • You have configured the indexing mechanism. For more information, see Configuring the Indexing of Portal Content .

Features

The portal only indexes nested content up to the page level. iViews on a page are indexed as part of the page. iViews lying directly under a role or folder, are indexed independently.

All roles assigned to at least one user are indexed.

Exclude Portal Objects from Indexing

You can exclude specific pages and iViews from the index as follows:

  1. In the portal, go to Start of the navigation path Content Administration Next navigation step Portal Content Management End of the navigation path.

  2. In the Portal Catalog, find the object that you want to exclude from the index, and from the context menu choose Start of the navigation path Open Next navigation step Properties End of the navigation path.

  3. In the Properties editor, choose All to display the full list of properties.

  4. Choose Modify Properties .

  5. Locate the Exclude from Index property and select the checkbox in the Value column.
