Creating RFC Destinations on the Sender System for Processing Java IDocsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Procedure

  1. To configure an RFC connection on the sender system, start transaction /nsm59 .

    The Configuration of RFC Connections application opens.

  2. Choose New .

    The RFC Destination application opens.

  3. In the RFC Destination field, enter the name of the destination.
  4. In the Connection Type field, choose the value help button and then choose Start External Program Using TCP/IP option on the window that opens.
  5. On the Technical Settings tab, enter the following settings:
    1. On the Activation Type area, choose the Registered Server Program radio button.

      In the Program ID field, enter the program ID which you used when you configured the communication channel to the sender business system.

    2. On the Start Type of External Program area, choose the Default Gateway Value radio button.

    3. On the CPI-C Timeout area, choose the Default Gateway Value radio button.

    4. If the configuration channel is configured in the default mode, on the Gateway Options area, enter the following settings:

      • In the Gateway Host field, enter the hostname that you used in the inboundRA gateway host property.

      • In the Gateway service field, enter the service of the sender business system that you used in the inboundRA gateway service property. You can construct the service as explained by the following example.

        The Gateway service comprises sapgw+<number> . The number is the port number of the sender business system in the system landscape directory.

  6. Depending on the sender system, on the Unicode tab, enter the specific settings. If the sender system is a Unicode system, choose the corresponding option. Do not enable the Unicode option for non-Unicode system and vice versa.
  7. Save your settings.
  8. To test the RFC destination, choose the Connection Test button. The system displays the results of several requests to the sender business system.
  9. To test the Unicode status of the business system to which you created an RFC destination, choose the Unicode Test button. The system displays the results of the Unicode test of the destination.
