Use

Over time, the recommended settings for the configuration of the database may change. You can perform a check to see whether your database configuration still complies with the current recommendations for you system.

The following settings are checked:

  • Whether the most important database parameters are set according to the recommendations for your system

  • Whether there are any broken indexes

  • Whether the database trace is activated

  • Whether there are tables for which no statistical information is stored in the file directory

  • Whether logging is activated and overwriting of the log area is deactivated

  • Whether the data cache size corresponds to the recommendations for your system

Procedure

In SAP systems, proceed as described in SAP note 1111426 Information published on SAP site (Database Parameter Check for SAP MaxDB/liveCache).

In other systems, download the Parameter Check File from the SAP MaxDB download area on SCN ( https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/maxdb-downloadsInformation published on SAP site) and proceed as described there.
