Deleting an Archiving Request from Near-Line StorageLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can delete archiving requests from the near-line storage, in order to reduce the amount of data in your near-line storage.

Deleting a near-line request involves two steps:

  • First the near-line request is flagged for deletion.

  • Next the near-line request is physically deleted.

You can manually flag archiving requests. The system also automatically flags requests in the following cases:

  • when archiving requests have been reloaded into the InfoProvider

  • when archiving requests have been set to invalid

In the case of an archiving request without an assigned ADK archiving run (in other words, archiving is exclusively performed using near-line storage), deletion cannot be undone for this request. The archiving request and the near-line request are assigned the final target status near-line request deleted . The time slice of the archiving request remains locked and cannot be revoked. In the case of archiving requests with an assigned ADK archiving run (ADK-based archiving with near-line storage), the deleted data of the near-line request can be reloaded into near-line storage from the ADK later on. This is done using a new near-line request.
