Use

Content usage mode: remote role assignment, remote delta link, WSRP application sharing

Applies to: producers, consumers

This section describes the configuration tasks you need to perform before you start exposing and consuming content between the portals in your federated portal network (FPN).

Procedure

The following table outlines the preparatory tasks you need to perform, and specifies on which portal the task must be performed and to which content usage mode each task applies. If a task is required by more than one content usage mode, then you only need to perform the task once on each relevant portal. If a task applies to both a consumer portal and producer portal, then the task must be performed on each system separately.

Note

If your system shares content with a remote portal running a different version of SAP NetWeaver, refer to the FPN documentation of that release on SAP Help Portal at help.sap.com .

(1) To set up trust between two systems before creating an FPN connection, you must use the SSO wizard in SAP NetWeaver Administrator. You can however set up trust at a later time after you have created the FPN connection; to do so use either the FPN Trust editor in the portal or the SSO wizard in SAP NetWeaver Administrator. For more information, see Setting Up Trust Using the FPN Trust Editor (this does not apply to an SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment system).

(2) Only relevant when both the producer portal and the consumer portal are running SAP NetWeaver.

(3) Does not directly affect content usage at design time and at runtime; only relevant for the registration process.

(4) Does not directly affect content usage at design time and at runtime; only relevant for setting up new FPN connections.

(5) Does not apply to an SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment system.
