Use

By assigning collection and reorganization schemata to performance values, you select the MTE classes that you want to collect in the Central Performance History (CPH). If you make an assignment, this rule is interpreted and the results of this interpretation are written to a database table.

Tip

You select any system for the assignment for dialog response time (MTE class R3DialogResponseTime). This rule is interpreted, in that the dialog response time node is included in the table for all application servers of the system - the corresponding nodes are therefore collected.

As the nodes that fulfill a rule of this type can change over time, the rules must be regularly reinterpreted, if you, for example, set up a new application server. This new interpretation is automatically performed for every run of the reorganization job (see Collecting and Reorganizing Performance Values), which by default runs once a week.

However, you can reinterpret the rules at any time, if your IT environment has changed and you do not want to wait for the next run of the reorganization job. There are two ways to do this:

  • Adding New Entries

The database table with the nodes to be monitored is updated, in that missing entries are added. Existing entries are not changed. Use this function if you have, for example, set up a new application server in a monitored system.

  • Regenerate All Entries

The database table with the nodes to be monitored is completely recreated, meaning that all nodes that no longer exist are deleted from the table. Use this function to clean the table after significant changes to your IT environment.

Procedure
  1. Start the administration transaction of the CPH by calling transaction RZ23N.
  2. To add new entries, choose Advanced → Update Data Collection.
  3. To regenerate all entries, choose Advanced → Initialize Data Collection.
