If you are using IBM DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows as a database, the database activates standard DataStore objects by performing MPP (massive parallel processing).
MPP means that SQL statements process the data in parallel over all database partitions in which the DataStore object is located. MPP reduces the runtime for data activation considerably, in particular for DataStore objects that are distributed over multiple database partitions.
