Partitioning InfoProviders Using Characteristic OFISCPERLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can partition InfoProviders using two characteristics: calendar month (0CALMONTH) and fiscal year/period (0FISCPER). The special feature of the fiscal year/period characteristic (0FISCPER) being compounded with the fiscal year variant (0FISCVARNT) means that you have to use a special procedure when partitioning an InfoProvider using 0FISCPER.

Prerequisites

During partitioning using 0FISCPER, values are calculated within the partitioning interval specified in InfoProvider maintenance. For this to happen, the value for 0FISCVARNT must be known at the time of partitioning, meaning that it must be set to Constant.

Procedure

For InfoCubes:

  1. You are in InfoCube maintenance. Set the value for characteristic 0FISCVARNT to constant. Carry out the following steps:

    1. In the context menu for the dimension folder, choose Object-Specific InfoObject Properties.

    2. Enter a constant for characteristic 0FISCVARNT. Choose Continue.

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Extras Next navigation step DB Perfomance Next navigation step Partitioning End of the navigation path. The Define Partitioning Condition dialog box appears. You can now use Selection to select characteristic 0FISCPER. Choose Continue.

  3. The Value Range (Partitioning Condition) dialog box appears. Enter the required data. More information: Partitioning.

For DataStore Objects:

  1. You are in DataStore maintenance. Set the value for characteristic 0FISCVARNT to constant. Carry out the following steps:

    1. Select either the Key Fields folder or the Data Fields folder (depending on where characteristics 0FISCPER and 0FISCVANT are located).

    2. Choose Provider-Specific Properties from the context menu for characteristic 0FISCVARNT.
