Copying a Track (Save As ...)Locate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can use an existing track as a template for new tracks.

You have two options.

  • You can copy the track together with all parameters of the template.

  • You can modify the template and choose Save As to save the track with a new track ID and track name.

In both cases, use the Save As... function.

Prerequisites

You are in Landscape Configurator.

You have configured at least one track.

Procedure

Copying a Track with All Parameters of the Template

If you want to copy a track, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the track that you want to copy and choose Save As... . The Save As dialog box appears.

  2. Enter a new track ID and track name, and a description for the copy. Specify whether you want to add the runtime systems to the new track.

  3. Choose Save .

Modifying the Template and Saving It as a New Track

If you want to modify the template track and then save it as a new track, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the track that you want to use as a template.

  2. To switch to change mode, choose Change .

  3. Modify all required parameters, such as DTR- and CBS-URL or the configuration of the software components in the track.

    Note

    Do not make any changes to the following parameters:

Track ID

Track Name

Track Description You are prompted for these values again before you save.

  1. Choose Save As.... The Save As dialog box appears.

  2. Enter a new track ID and track name, and a description for the new track. Specify whether you want to add the runtime systems to the new track.

  3. Choose Save .

Result

The CMS creates a new track that is based on the template.
