Use

For each command in the DTR command line client, you will find its purpose, most commonly used options, and examples of its usage. Regarding the command syntax shown below, note the following:

  • The part that is enclosed in [] is optional.

  • The part that is enclosed in <> describes the required parameter of an option.

  • An enumeration of valid parameters is denoted by (...|...) .

Editing the activity or uploading, downloading or unchecking out the resources in a specific activity.

ADD

Adding a resource to the DTR.

CD

Navigating in the DTR folder structure.

CHECKIN

Checking in an activity.

CLIENTS

Showing all available DTR client configurations.

CLOSEWORKSPACE / CLOSEWS

Closing a workspace for any modification.

CONFIG

Opens the configuration files for editing.

DELETE

Deleting an object.

DELETEWORKSPACE

Deleting a workspace.

DIFF

Finding differences between two file versions.

DIR

Showing the folder content.

DISPLAYBLOBMETADATA

Extracts and displays meta information of the propagatable blob.

DOWNLOAD

Downloading content from the DTR to the local file system.

EDIT

Checking out a versioned resource.

EXIT

Leaving the shell mode of the DTR command line editor.

EXPORT/EXP

Exporting content of an activity, propagation list or a workspace into file.

GET

Synchronizing objects on the local file system with the DTR.

HELP

Calling the tool help.

HISTORY

Showing the version history of a specified file or folder.

IMPORT / IMP

Importing a file created by the export command into a repository.

INTEGRATE

Integrating an activity or a propagation list into a workspace.

LDIR

Listing only those files and folders that exist on the local directory.

MKACTIVITY / MKACT

Explicitly creating an activity.

MKDIR

Creating a folder under a workspace.

MKLDIR

Creating a folder locally only.

MKPROPAGATIONLIST / MKPL

Creating a propagation list

MKWORKSPACE / MKWS

Creating workspace folders and workspaces.

MOUNTPOINTS / MPS

Listing mountpoints.

MOVE

Moving a checked out resource from its activity to another activity.

PREDECESSORS / PRED

Finding dependencies between activities.

PROPERTY / PROP

Setting, reading, and removing properties of a versioned resource.

RDIR

Listing only files and folders that exist on the server.

REFRESH

Refreshing the state of the current client or switching to another client.

REMOVE

Removing files and folder from the local file system.

REOPENWORKSPACE / REOPENWS

Re-opening a closed workspace.

RESOLVE

Resolving check in or integration conflicts.

SCRIPT

Executing a sequence of DTR command line commands from a file.

SERVERGARBAGECOLLECT

Finding and removing non-referenced objects on the server.

SETPASSWORD / SETP

Changing a password.

SETPROPREQUESTID

Sets the propagation request ID for the given activity, propagation list, or workspace.

STATUS / STAT

Displaying the state of a file or folder.

SYSTEMS

Displaying the systems.

UNCHECKOUT / UNCO

Discarding the changes made on a checked-out or newly added resource.

UPLOAD

Uploading (saving) a checked out-file to the server.

VALIDATEBLOB

Validates the completeness of the contents of a blob.

WORKSPACES

Listing all available workspaces or workspaces on the server.
