Incremental SearchLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

When you type a search string, the editor searches and selects the first occurrence of that string on a letter-by-letter basis.

Features

To start an incremental search, click with the secondary mouse button in the code and choose Find Incremental. When you type the search string, you can see the text appear in the status bar in the left bottom corner of the editor as shown in the figure below:

When you have entered enough characters to identify the item you need, you can stop typing. To stop the incremental search, press Esc or any of the arrow keys.

Example

If you choose Incremental Search Forward and type hugo, the first occurrence of hugo is after the current cursor position. With Incremental Search Backward, you find the first occurrence before the current cursor position.
