Defining Control Parameters for Data Transfer

Under Start of the navigation path Scheduler Next navigation step DataSource Default Data Transfer End of the navigation path you can override the settings you made in BW Customizing for a particular DataSource and a particular update mode.

More information: Maintaining Data Transfer Control Parameters for DataSources

Defining the Maximum Wait Time Before a Request is Determined to have an Error

Under Start of the navigation path Scheduler Next navigation step Timeout Time End of the navigation path you define the maximum wait time before the system determines a request for this InfoPackage to have an error. If the system has not received any (additional) data record before the maximum wait time has elapsed, the request is assigned the error status.

You can use this function to override the system-wide setting for a particular InfoPackage. The default setting for each InfoPackage is the same as the system-wide setting you made under Start of the navigation path Monitor Next navigation step Settings End of the navigation path, or in BW Customizing.

Defining the Request Status for Warnings

Under Start of the navigation path Scheduler Next navigation step Treatment of Warnings End of the navigation path you define how the system reacts to any warnings that appear; that is, whether a request for this InfoPackage is given the green, yellow, or red status in such a case. You can use this function to override the system-wide setting for a particular InfoPackage. The default setting for each InfoPackage is the same as the system-wide setting you made under Start of the navigation path Monitor Next navigation step Settings End of the navigation path, or in BW Customizing.

Recommendation

We recommend you not to assign the status yellow to the request when a warning arises, since this prevents subsequent processing steps from starting, and the request would then be denoted as having an error after the time-out time had elapsed anyway.

Defining the Request Status if there is no Data in the Source System

Under Start of the navigation path Scheduler Next navigation step Color of Traffic Light for Empty Request End of the navigation path you define how the system reacts if there is no data in the source system for the data request.

Restricting the Number of Selection Values

Under Start of the navigation path Extras Next navigation step Restrict Number of Selection Values End of the navigation path you can set a indicator for the InfoPackage stipulating that a maximum of 1000 single and interval selection can be defined. In the default setting, this indicator is set.

Performing an Automatic Metadata Comparison for a Data Request from SAP Source Systems

Under Start of the navigation path Extras Next navigation step Synchronize Metadata End of the navigation path you can define that a metadata comparison of the DataSource in BW with the source system takes place, and that the DataSource is replicated if necessary.

For reasons of compatibility the indicator for DataSources 3.x is not set in the default setting. For DataSources in the dataflow with transformation, the indicator is set.

More information: Replication of DataSources in the section Replication for Data Request.

For InfoPackages 3.x

Test Delete Selection at Start

If you want to automatically delete or cancel requests for the InfoCube after loading you can go to Start of the navigation path Scheduler Next navigation step Test Delete Selections at Start End of the navigation path and specify whether the requests are to be deleted or canceled with or without the system displaying a warning.

Defining Parallel Execution of Processes

Under Start of the navigation path Extras Next navigation step PSA -> DTA Parallel End of the navigation path you can set the maximum number of parallel processes for the update process from DataSource 3.x of this InfoPackage to the defined data targets.

More information: BW Background Management, Logs and Tools

For InfoPackages with Delta Process

Displaying Initialization for a DataSource

For InfoPackages that can load deltas, you can display all initializations for the DataSource under Start of the navigation path Scheduler Next navigation step Initialization Options for Source System End of the navigation path.

More information: Tab page: Updating in the section Initialization of Delta Process.

Denoting a Request as a Repair Full Request

You can use a request that was denoted as a repair request using Start of the navigation path Scheduler Next navigation step Repair Full Request End of the navigation path to perform a full update in any InfoProvider, even if this InfoProvider already contains data from an initialization run or deltas for this DataSource / source system combination, and has overlapping selection conditions.

More information: Tab page: Updating in the section Full Update.

For InfoPackages for File Source Systems

Defining Parallel Execution of Processes

Under Start of the navigation path Extras Next navigation step Load New DataSource in Parallel End of the navigation path you can set the maximum number of parallel processes for the transfer process from a file source system to a DataSource of object type RSDS.

More information: Setting Parallel Processing of BW Processes
