Removing Connections to WSRP ProducersLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

  • You are assigned to the portal role that contains the Federated Portal workset. By default this is the System Administration role.

  • You have been assigned at least administrator full-control permission to the WSRP producer object or its folder in the Portal Catalog.

The functionality described in this topic does not apply to an SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment system without usage type EP Core - Application Portal (EPC).

A system administrator in an SAP NetWeaver consumer portal can remove a WSRP connection if it is no longer needed.

When a WSRP connection is removed, all content consumed from the remote WSRP producer in the same registration scope remains on the consumer portal, but becomes invalidated. All personalization settings are lost permanently. If you add the same producer with the same alias, functionality of the invalidated content is not restored.

Recommendation

To temporarily prevent a content consumer from using remote content without deleting the WSRP connection, use the Block Access feature instead. For more information, see Enabling/Disabling Remote Access on WSRP Consumers .

Procedure


  1. In the consumer portal, navigate to Start of the navigation path System Administration Next navigation step Federated Portal Next navigation step  Non-SAP - WSRP Connections Next navigation step  Manage My WSRP Producers End of the navigation path.

  2. In the Portal Catalog, navigate to the WSRP producer object that represents the WSRP connection to the remote producer portal that you want to remove.

  3. In the context menu of the WSRP producer object, choose Delete .

    The WSRP connection is unregistered and removed from your portal.

    Note

    • If your portal is unable to connect to the remote producer portal, the local producer object is still removed; however the unregistration procedure is aborted. In this event, your portal will still be visible by the remote portal. We recommend that you notify a system administrator of the producer portal and request they manually remove your consumer instance.

    • Removing a WSRP connection does not automatically delete any remote-based content (proxy-to-portlet iViews) that has been generated on your consumer portal. After removing a WSRP connection, a content administrator must manually locate and delete the relevant remote-based content, if needed.
