When an alert is confirmed, its status is changed and it will not be delivered, escalated, or displayed.
There are two ways to confirm an alert:
Generally, alerts are confirmed by the recipient in his or her display program (UWL, application-specific program, or alert inbox). The users just have to select the alerts to be confirmed, and to choose the alert confirmation option.
If an alert is sent by Internet mail or SMS message, it is also possible to confirm alerts by sending an Internet mail or SMS message back to the SAP system. Alert Management uses inbound processing for this. For more information, see Alert Confirmation with Inbound Processing.
