If your portal is running SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment with usage type EP Core - Application Portal (EPC) or the remote portal is running SAP NetWeaver 7.3, ignore this topic and read Prerequisites instead.
The prerequisites for implementing a federated portal network across a SAP NetWeaver 7.0 and SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment landscape are as follows:
The producer portal is running SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment. The basic initial configuration steps of the portal are completed.
For more information, see Configuring the Portal for Initial Use .
Consumer portals are running SAP NetWeaver 7.0.
The SAP NetWeaver 7.0 consumer system must have usage type EP Core (EPC) installed. The initial configuration steps must also be completed.
Any non-SAP consumer portals you may be working with must be WSRP-compliant.
The user bases of all portals in the network adhere to the requirements described in User Persistence .
You have an extensive understanding of the permission model in the portal. Aspects of implementing a federated portal network rely on configuring portal permissions.
For more information, see Portal Permissions .
