Resolving InconsistenciesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

The consistency checks made on the track have indicated inconsistencies between Change Management Service (CMS) and System Landscape Directory (SLD). The warning dialog box tells you that a software component in SLD has changed or that the Name Server has changed.

Procedure

Track Inconsistencies

To resolve this type of inconsistency, you need to update the data in CMS. To do this, choose Update CMS .

Name Server Changed in SLD

You also need to update the data in CMS if the Name Server has been changed in SLD. To do this, choose Update CMS .

Resolving Inconsistencies in the Dependency Definitions for the Software Component (SC)

During configuration of software components, CMS checks whether the definition of the build time dependencies in the track matches that in SLD.

You can use the Synchronize SC Dependencies function to display the differences in the dependencies between SLD and CMS, and to decide which dependency definition is valid for the track.

To synchronize inconsistencies, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose Synchronize SC Dependencies . The Synchronize Software Component Dependencies dialog box appears. A list of the installed software components in the track is displayed.

    Note

Initially, the list displays all software components that are configured in the track. By choosing Show Software components out of sync with SLD , you can restrict the display so that only software components with different dependency definitions are shown.

  2. Expand the software components that you want to synchronize. For each software component, you can see the dependencies as defined in SLD and CMS.

    Note

In the Integrate into CMS Definition column, you can change the dependency definitions in CMS again and add any missing SLD definitions.

  3. In the table, select the software components that you want to perform synchronization for.

  4. Choose which of the following options is most suitable for you:

    • Accept CMS Definition : Accepts the dependency definition as defined in the CMS track.

    • Accept SLD Definition : Accepts the dependency definition as defined in the SLD track.

    • Accept Integration : Accepts the dependency definitions that are selected in the Integrate into CMS Definition column and adds them to the existing CMS definition in the track.

The dependency definitions are applied in the track definitions for all selected software components.

  5. Save the track.

Result

You have resolved the inconsistencies.
