Editing a TrackLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You are in Landscape Configurator.

You have configured at least one track.

Context

You can change an existing track. For example, you might one you add or remove runtime systems or change the number of software components in the track.

Procedure

  1. Select the track that you want to edit in the track list. CMS displays the track data on the Track Data tab page.

  2. Change the data according to your requirements and choose Save .

    Caution

When you make changes to the software components of the track, you may also change the configuration of the CBS buildspace. This deletes the buildspaces and creates them again, which means you need to fill them with content again.

Change Management Service (CMS) checks whether the new track configuration requires an updates of the buildspace and notifies you of the required actions in the Update Buildspace Confirmation dialog box.

This dialog box shows you a list of the software components that require follow-up actions. The software components can have the following statuses:

    • New The software component is a new component in the track configuration or has not yet been imported into the track. You must check in and import this software component manually in Transport Studio.

    • Reimport This software component has already been imported into the track and must now be imported again to restore the buildspace.

The dialog box offers you the following options for completing the editing action:

    • Save This option saves the new track data only. You need to perform any follow-up actions required to restore the build space yourself.

    • Save and Restore After the new data has been saved, CMS performs the action Restore System State (see Restoring the System State ). The previously imported software components are placed in the import queues of the Development and Configuration systems again. You must start the import for these software components manually in Transport Studio.

    • Save and Reimport After the new data has been saved, CMS performs the action Restore System State (see Restoring the System State ) and then imports the required software components in the Development and Consolidation automatically.

      Note

The Save and Reimport action can take some time.

    • Cancel The save action is canceled. The modified data is not saved.

  3. Choose an option to complete the edit action.

    Note

You do not need to update buildspaces in an XI track. CMS saves the track without any further dialogs appearing.

Results

CMS has saved the track with the new data.
