Prerequisites

You are in Landscape Configurator in CMS.

Context

You use the Update CMS function to synchronize the data of the Change Management Service (CMS) with the data of the System Landscape Directory (SLD).

You use this function, for example, when you create a new software component (SC) in the SLD and then want to define a track for this SC. Before you can see the SC in the list in the CMS, you must update the CMS.

When you do this, the SLD sends the following data to the CMS:

  • List of software components in the SLD

  • URL of the name server

Procedure


  1. Choose the Domain Data link. A screen displaying the domain data appears.

  2. To switch to change mode, choose Change .

  3. Choose Update CMS . The CMS takes the most current data from the assigned SLD server.

Results

The CMS data is synchronized with the data of the SLD. Depending on the volume of data, the update can take several minutes.

Note

After the update, a consistency check is performed automatically on the existing tracks.
