Defining Roles in the Process Using LanesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

A lane is a subpartition of a pool in the process. You use lanes to organize and separate activities that are associated with different functions or roles in the process. You connect flow objects in separate lanes within a pool with a sequence flow. Each pool in the process has one default lane upon its creation. For more information, see Pools and Lanes .

When you create the lane, you have the option to define task owners of the tasks in that lane. For more information, see Defining Task Owners .
