Use

Use the DBA Planning Calendar to perform log backups as specified in your planning concept.

Prerequisites
Procedure

To do this, proceed as described in the following sections:

  • Activating Automatic Log Backup

    Automatic log backups protect the log area from overflow.

  • Scheduling an Interactive Log Backup

    If automatic log backups are not activated, check there is enough storage space in the log area at regular intervals and schedule a log backup in good time.

  • Archiving Backup Files

    A log backup (automatic or interactive) usually backs up the log entries to backup files that you should archive at regular intervals. If you are using a backup tool from another provider, you can automate this procedure.
